Sarenrae Blonde/Colorless Herbal Hair Color and Conditioner

No, not a new product, just a retitle!  Formerly known as Devas, our Golden Blonde / Colorless (on dark hair) blend is now known as Sarenrae.

Why the change? Back in the day I had this idea that all the hair colors would be named after faeries, and all the powders would be things that could be purchased in a fae market. That worked right up until Fire Genasi came along (Dungeons & Dragons entity with a fire elemental as a parent), and then was followed up by Kitsune (Japanese fox-spirit), Enyo (Greek goddess of war), and Eilistraee (a Drow goddess in Dungeons & Dragons).

Also? Devas just never resonated with me. It sounded kind of like diva, and most divas don't seem into the whole head-full-of-mud thing.

Lastly, I'm a long-time roleplayer, and after creating the Raven Queen's Chosen Oil I wanted to do another Critical Role homage. Sarenrae is the Pathfinder Goddess of Healing and Redemption who teaches temperance and patience in all things. This herbal blend is perfect for putting damaged hair on the mend, and Sarenrae fit thematically.

In Critical Role, before Pike Trickfoot, a Cleric of Sarenrae, was killed, her hair black with a purple streak. After her first death and resurrection her hair turned white. Her player, Ashley Johnson, has blonde hair, too, so it all seemed to fit rather nicely.

This herbal hair conditioner hearkens to the warmth of Sarenrae, imparting warm golden tones to lighter colored hair, and giving amazing natural conditioning properties to darker colored hair. Sarenrae Blonde/Colorless Herbal Hair Color and Conditioner is made entirely from powdered herbs.

How to use: slowly melt gloss bar on low heat on stovetop in pot. Do not microwave. Once gloss bar has fully melted you may use immediately or add other ingredients to customize your gloss. Suggested additions: coconut milk, essential oils etc.

Apply evenly throughout hair starting from the front and moving towards the back. Wrap hair. Leave on hair from 1-4 hours as desired. Wash out thoroughly and style as usual.

Announcing the addition of Senna alexandrina to our hair color blends!

Senna alexandrea is a close relative to Senna italica, which most people refer to as Cassia obovata.  The yellow color in Senna comes from Chrysophanic acid, which is also what gives it the conditioning benefits to both scalp and hair.  After some testing, we've found Senna alexandrea that has very, very high levels of Chrysophanic acid.

I was a little skeptical when I investigated this, but I was happily surprised to find that not only did the Senna alexandrea produce great stain, but the mud also had a gel-like consistency, much like one finds with henna.

Any hair blend that currently uses just Senna italica will changing to include a blend of both Senna italica.  That includes:

 

• Devas
• Rusalki
• Fire Genasi

I'm very confident everyone will love the change.  This means very little in terms of color change (though Devas might see the nicest boost of all the blends), but what it means is more conditioning benefits that will last longer.  The cost of the affected blends won't change at all, so consider this a wonderful added benefit!

Our labels are being updated to include this change and will take a little time to cycle out both the older blends and the newer labels, but we wanted to announce the change and keep everyone aware.  

Of course, the old blends will always be available via custom order :)

Introducing Eilistraee Colorless Herbal Hair Conditoner

Eilistraee, also referred to as "The Dark Maiden," is a fictional deity in the Forgotten Realms. She is a goddess in the drow pantheon, and her portfolios are song, swordwork, hunting, the moon and beauty. She is worshipped by song and dance, if at all possible, in the surface world under the moonlit night among the woods. Eilistraee is represented by a drow female in the nude, dancing with a silver sword under the moon. 

Her hair is long, silver-white and often illuminated with moonlight. This herbal mix seeks to capture such a glow for your own tresses. 

This herbal hair conditioner is perfect for moonlight white hair, or for cooler-colored locks that could stand some herbal conditioning, but don't want to have the color changed at all. You'll find it leaves your hair with amazing shine and volume. Please note this mix CANNOT lighten your hair, only impart transparent tones to your natural color. 

Ingredients

Certified Organic Zizyphus Spina Christi (Sedr) , Organic Aloe Vera Powder, Nettle, Wheatgrass.

• Certified Organic Zizyphus Spina Christi (Sedr) – Conditions hair in a manner similar to that of henna, providing body, aiding in detangling, scalp conditioning, and provides shine/sheen to hair. 
• Aloe Vera – Contains many of the products necessary and effective in fighting hair loss: Biotin, b-vitamins, zinc and inositil. It also contains anti-bacterial properties that keep the scalp healthy by controlling scalp infections that can prohibit hair growth.
• Stinging Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica)– Often called nature’s conditioner, Stinging Nettle is natural deep cleanser useful for oily skin and hair that promotes hair growth.
• Wheatgrass- Smooths the hair cuticle and helps alleviate itchy, scaly, scalp conditions.

Storage: The powder can be stored in the freezer for well over a year, so long as it is kept in an airtight bag or container. The mud can be kept frozen for 6 months.  We're offering it in a 10g sample size and a 100g full size.
